About The Work:
Listening to flex band works the melody is often taken by only one or two parts. I wanted to make a piece where each part has the melody and the other parts serve as accompaniment giving everyone an opportunity to "flex" their musical chops. The work is an 11-part Rondo form (ABACADAEAFA) where the verse is the A section and the 5 different chorus sections allow each part of the 5-part flex band a moment to shine. The EDM subgenre explored in the fixed media is Deep Dubstep/140/Grime.

Lyrics:
"Flex, Flex, Flex, who's next? Flex, Flex, who's up on the decks? Make it bump big and pay my respects. Yeah, switch it up ambidex. Yeah who's next, hey band, flex! Know that it's not complex, I said, flex!"
Grade Level Note:
The key and tempo are not within the standard for the grade level in order to stay consistent with the traditions of the EDM subgenre. The key and tempo must not be changed to preserve the integrity of the work.
