About The Work:

“The Summoning Of The Saints” is inspired by tarot cards. Tarot cards have always fascinated me and the work came from asking what if these figures on the cards came to life? They would bring the positive characteristics associated with the card as they came to life to be represented as saints. I wanted to choose Major Arcanas so there could be a physicality and relatability to each saint as they appeared. The tarot cards that are summoned are first, the celestial weaver, which is not common in a tradition tarot deck. Next is the wheel of fortune and lastly the empress. The celestial weaver is meant to conjure power, manifestation, and interconnectedness. The wheel of fortune is meant to bring about cycles, change, and karma. The empress is meant to embody creativity, nurturing, and abundance.

The other portion of this work is the Gregorian chant and remnants sounds of the catholic church. A mentor once asked me, what makes a work sound like Logan Larson in an EDM only context? The answer I landed on is my history steeped in choral music traditions. Vocal music has been at the center of world for as long as I can remember. This work is the truest expression of myself that I have written at this point in my career. This work is an ode to my love for classical vocal music and Dubstep and finding a place where they exist in harmony together.

Lyrics:

Congregavit, amen. (They assembled, faithfully.)

Domimus fixus caelestia textricis, amen. (The lord established the celestial weaver.)

Congregavit, amen. (They assembled, faithfully.)

Domimus fixus rota fortunae, amen. (The lord established the wheel of fortune, faithfully.)

Congregavit, amen. (They assembled, faithfully.)

Domimus fixus imperatrix, amen. (The lord established the empress, faithfully.)
